Storm Brewing
Guest writer Aaron McNicholas caught up with Lorcan Tucker who backs Ireland to hit the ground running at T20 World Cup

The Pepsi ICC Europe U15 Trophy gets underway on Monday at Rugby School in England, with Ireland’s under 15 squad up against their counterparts from Scotland, Netherlands, Jersey, Guernsey and Denmark.
The Irish team will be led by Harry Tector, younger brother of under 19 captain Jack, with Varun Chopra of Coleraine acting as vice-captain for the tournament.
Ireland will play on each day of the tournament, starting Monday, facing each team once before the tournament is wrapped up on Saturday August 8th. As with last year the tournament is ran as a round robin league, with the winner being the team with most points at the end of the tournament, with net run rate coming in to play should points be level.
The Irish side won the competition, held at the same venue, last season, and will be looking to retain the title against strong Scotland and Jersey teams, with the three heading into the tournament as favourites.
Starting on Monday with a game against Jersey, Ireland will then face the Netherlands and Denmark on consecutive days before a rest day on Thursday and a match against Guernsey on Friday before finishing up on Saturday 8th with a potential title decider against Scotland.
Each day will see three games take place, all within Rugby School’s extensive sport facility, and all starting at 10.30 in the morning. You can follow the action, including live scorecards through cricketireland.ie – where we will also have daily reports of the action and photographs where available.
