Selfless leg bye
Ireland Men make it 2-from-2 against Italy; Tector hits remarkable 96*

Leinster and the North West got their 2014 Under-13 campaigns off to a winning start in Dublin today.
Leinster survived a scare at Clontarf to run out 41 run winners over Munster. Batting first, the Leinster opening pair of Jackson and Archer got the innings off to flier with both batsmen racing to their half centuries. Archer blasted 12 boundaries in his 26 ball stay, while Jackson’s time at the crease lasted 52 balls before both batsmen retired. Senan Jones, Diarmuid Carey and Harry Deane all were in the wickets for Munster as Leinster finished their innings on 209-8 after 36 overs.
Munster’s reply hit an early stumbling block when Kieran O’Reilly departed first ball of the innings, but a 93 run partnership between Kaasim Alam (49) and Sufyan Khan (18) put Munster in a strong position to chase the Leinster total. But they couldn’t establish that vital middle order partnership and ran out of time on 168-9. O’Halloran was the leading wicket taker for the home side with 3-18 off 4 overs.
In the day’s other game, the North West got their tournament off to a promising start as they completed a 7-wicket win over the NCU at Rush. After Harry Warke (25) got the NCU off to a good start, North West bowlers began to dominate with Levi Kerr and Gregory McFaul picking up three wickets each while Jacob Logan-Wilson claimed two scalps as the NCU were bowled out for 104 in 28.3 overs.
Kyle Magee ensured the North West were on course for victory with a half century, while Logan-Wilson (20) and Patrick Carson (12*) also made contributions as they reached their target in 24 overs for the loss of three wickets, Jack Carson claiming two of those. The North West win sets up a must win clash with Leinster at Rathmines on Thursday.
