After yet more rain in Bready, the third and final day of the Hanley Energy Inter-Provincial Championship match between the North-West Warriors and Leinster Lightning has been abandoned, with both sides taking three points from the game.
Another day of showers and more overnight rain meant the ground had no chance to dry and as conditions worsened on the field it was an easy decision for the umpires to abandon play for the third day in a row, meaning the three day fixture is drawn without a ball being bowled.

Both sides will take three points from the fixture, a disappointing outcome for the Warriors, who had been hoping to take more from the game and really push for a first Championship title. As it stands however, they are unlikely to take the title despite currently being in top spot after completing all their fixtures.

Their only chance is if the Knights and Lightning draw next week in the final match of the season, with a win for either of those sides more than enough to win the title outright.

The Warriors hold a nine point lead over the Knights, who have only managed eight points in each of their three drawn fixtures this season, giving the Warriors hope of taking the title. The Lighting, who are 14.5 points behind the Warriors, will be looking to take a win, as a draw will not be enough for them to take the title, and the elusive treble.

Action in the final Hanley Energy Championship match of the season will get underway on Tuesday September 8th, with coverage on cricketireland.ie.
