Squads named for North Down Inter-Pro T20 Blitz

The squads have been named for Sunday’s Inter-Provincial T20 extravaganza at North Down Cricket Club, where one lucky spectator could be going home £10,000 richer!
The home side have added CSNI’s all-rounder Shane Getkate to their side for the double header against the Leinster Lightning and North West Warriors as they look to use the two matches to stamp their authority on the T20 table.

Andrew White saw his side over the line with the bat last week, while also picking up 3 wickets, as the Knights claimed a dramatic final over win over the Warriors; he again leads out the Knights in front of what is expected to be a huge crowd at Comber, and he will be looking to the likes of Chris Dougherty and Peter Eakin to continue their form with the bat and ball respectively.

The Warriors got their first T20 win under their belt at Bready last week when they outplayed the Lightning in the day’s first encounter, but the loss of 7 wickets in 4 overs for just 15 runs at the back end of their innings against the Knights cost them dearly and they’ll be looking to make amends this Sunday.

The selectors have made a number of changes to the squad from Bready, with Brigade’s Mattie Moran named in a Warriors side for the first time, while club-mate Andy Britton has been included for the first time this season. Brian Allen also comes back into the the side which sees Jason Milligan, Gary and William McClintock drop out squad for 3.30pm match.

The Lightning meanwhile have made just one change to the side which lost out to the Warriors with The Hills’ Cormac McLoughlin coming in for Bill Coghlan. Leinster are the defending champions and will be looking to get points on the board heading into their home T20 day which takes place at Pembroke Cricket Club on August 3rd.

The action at The Green, Comber gets underway at 11am, where during the day there will be a chance for only lucky spectator to go home £10,000 better off in one of the competitions being run! Intrigued? Come along to Comber on Sunday to find out more!

Alongside the cricket there will lots of other activities for the family. For the younger children there will be ice cream and candy floss, face painting and a bouncy castle. And for older children there will be cricket competitions and the RSA Cricket Factory will be at the Green.
