A superb all-round performance from YMCA’s Simi Singh in their win over Leinster in RSA Division 1 moved him to the top of the CricHQ MVP standings for the country’s Premier Leagues.
There was just one match in the Ulster Bank Premier League this past weekend, so there was minimal movement in the NCU’s League’s MVP table. Ahead of a full round of matches this weekend, though, let’s recap on the current top five.

The top five remained the same after the weekend but have been shuffled around with Kaushik Aphale from Ballymena moving from second place into top spot. North Down’s Tim Ley was pushed down into third and Lurgan’s Niranjan Godbole splits the two.

In fourth place is Instonians’ Andrew White who moved up one place from fifth, and in his previous position is Griffin Nieuwoudt from CSNI who was previously in third place.

There were just two matches in the Long’s Supervalu Premier League and again, there was not much movement in the top five. However it is a school-boy who heads up the region with the 17 year old Ross Allen from Eglinton jumping from third place into top spot while his teammate Stuart Thompson was pushed down into second.

In third place is Iftikhar Hussain from Fox Lodge who moved down from second, and in fourth is Givon Christian who moved up five spots into fourth having played just three matches. The biggest mover this week was Tommy Barr from Strabane who jumped 28 places into fifth having taken five wickets against Glendermott in the thrilling tied match at the Rectory on Sunday.

North West MVP Leaderboard

There was a full round of matches in the RSA Division 1 in Leinster, and YMCA all-rounder Simi Singh was the big mover jumping 10 places into top spot and knocking Railway’s Pat Collins into second place.

North County’s Eddie Richardson moves from sixth into third place while YMCA’s Reinhardt Strydom, who is out for a number of weeks with an injury, drops two places into fourth. Merrion’s Tyrone Kane rounds out the top five, moving up two places into fifth. With some exceptional performances around the grounds there was some big movement outside the top 10 as well.

Eddie Richardson’s crucial innings against The Hills saw him move into the top 3 in Leinster

Theo Lawson’s match winning 88 not out for Pembroke saw him jump 44 places and enter the Top 50, whilst Phoenix captain Conor Kelly’s brilliant maiden century in a losing cause in the same game catapulted him 25 places up the leaderboard to 15th.
