RSA Insurance expands Cricket Ireland Sponsorship

RSA Insurance Ireland announces the renewal and expansion of their sponsorship of Irish Cricket to 2015.
At a reception held today in RSA House, Dublin and attended by the Minister of State for Sport and Tourism, Michael Ring, TD, Philip Smith, CEO, RSA Insurance Ireland announced the renewal of the company’s Cricket Ireland sponsorship for the next four years, for an undisclosed amount.
RSA Insurance Ireland announces the renewal and expansion of their sponsorship of Irish Cricket to 2015.
The partnership is expanded to include Irish Cricket’s:

• National Teams
• New Domestic Competitions
• National Grass Roots ‘Get Into Cricket’ Programme
• Major Events partnership

Speaking about the new sponsorship agreement, Philip Smith said “We’re delighted to announce the extension and significant expansion of our involvement with Cricket Ireland for the next four years. While maintaining our sponsorship of Ireland’s National cricket teams, exciting new developments such as the new Domestic Competitions, Grass Roots and Key Event programmes will see RSA support the development of the game at all levels across the country”.

Philip also commented: “Over the last few years, the achievement of Cricket Ireland in firmly establishing this country as the leading non Test nation in World Cricket has been second to none, and we at RSA have been very proud to support their efforts. As the leading general insurance business in the Irish market, Cricket Ireland’s aspiration and commitment sits very comfortably with our brand values and business development objectives. We’re very happy to expand our partnership with them and directly support their progressive growth strategy.”

We look forward to further building on this impact internationally and ensuring the structures are in place on the domestic front to develop future generations of Irish Cricketers’.

Sponsorship Details: The Partnership

The expanded sponsorship agreement will form an important element in RSA Ireland’s brand and business development programmes in the Irish and international markets.

The partnership also supports RSA’s wider Corporate & Social Responsibility Programme through the development of sport at national and grass roots levels.

The Sponsorship is focussed, over a four year period commencing January 2012 through: • National team sponsorship including:

• The Ireland Senior National Cricket Team
• Ireland ‘‘A” and Development Squad
• Ireland Women’s team & Ireland Under 19, 17 & 15 teams.
• New Domestic competitions
• New National Grass Roots ‘Get Into Cricket’ programme
• Major Event partnership
• The Sponsorship will include brand sponsorship of national team playing kit, training and collateral equipment, plus signage and related branding opportunities at key match and club venues.
• RSA’s support for the Domestic Competition programme will be focussed through a new inter-Regional match series, together with Irish Senior, Junior and National T20 Cup competitions
• RSA’s association with the new Cricket Ireland Grass Roots programme will see a significant uplift in activity to promote and support under age training and playing activities in schools, clubs and communities across the country.
• The Major Event partnership will see RSA become Official Partner for Ireland’s marquee match events and for Cricket Ireland’s key Promotional and Annual Awards programmes.
