The end of April usually signals the start of the Cricket season and this year despite the poor weather, there was good reason to celebrate.
New season means new kit and with O’Neills becoming Ireland’s official Kit Partner, it gave the opportunity to mark the special occasion of the launch of the new Cricket Ireland kit.
O’Neills is known worldwide as the Choice of Champions and of course in the first tournament where the O’Neills kit was worn, the statement rang true as Ireland won 10 games in a row en route to winning the ICC World T20 Qualifying Tournament in Dubai.

National Coach Phil Simmons said ‘We’re delighted to be working so closely with such an iconic Irish sports brand like O’Neills. We’re incredibly proud to be the first cricket team to be wearing O’Neills kit, which is all made here in Ireland. We used the kit throughout our successful World Twenty20 qualifiers campaign – both the players and myself are really impressed with the first-class quality of the kit.’

The launch of the new kit took place in Elverys Sports in Dundrum, where fans got a chance to mingle with some of the Ireland players, take part in catching and batting challenges and saw the kit being officially released by Irish Cricket legend Ossie Colhoun, who cut the ceremonial ribbon with Kevin O’Brien.

The day was rounded off with RTE Radio One’s The Mooney Show broadcasting live in store. Four of Ireland’s players helped to decide the winner of the week-long O’Neills promotion which gave away the grand prize of a trip to watch the Boys in Green at the ICC World T20 in Sri Lanka this September.
