The Netherlands will be hoping to get back on track against Namibia in Windhoek tomorrow in the first of their two World Cricket League ties
The Netherlands will be looking to return to winning ways against Namibia in Windhoek tomorrow in the first of their two World Cricket League ties.
The table could become a lot clearer after these two matches. Both teams have played just eight matches so far with Netherlands currently in joint fourth place on 10 points and Namibia second from bottom with four.
The table would suggest that Netherlands are the favourites but Namibia are coming off the back of an 82-run Intercontinental Cup win against the same opposition, so they have the form.
The Netherlands will be looking to Tom Cooper to continue his good form with the bat, though his century in the I-Cup was not enough to give the Dutch a win. But Namibia have a trump card in 23-year-old left-arm spinner Bernard Scholtz who took five wickets in the four-day match.
The home team will have to do without probably their best known player, Ryan Ten Doeschate, as he is playing for Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL. Should The Netherlands win both the games they will move into second place with 14 points, three points behind top-placed Ireland. Should Namibia win, they will remain second from bottom on eight points.
