Message from An Taoiseach – Enda Kenny, sent a message to the Ireland cricket team this evening upon their historic qualification for a third Cricket World Cup in a row after memorable appearances in the Caribbean in 2007 and India in 2011.
Ireland’s match today against the Netherlands ended in a thrilling tie against the Netherlands but Ireland still became the first side to qualify for the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

I want to send my heartiest congratulations to the Irish Cricket team, management and everyone associated with this tremendous qualification. Fantastic news and I am delighted for all of you, your families and friends.

I know that you will represent Ireland in Australia/New Zealand with your customary commitment and deep pride in the jersey you wear. This is a wonderful evening, enjoy it. We all look forward to 2015.
