Two clubs that are enjoying the dry weather more than most are Longford Cricket Club and Slieve Bloom Cricket Club.
Longford have entered a team into the Leinster League for the first time and have been put into Division 6. The club laid an artificial wicket last week to be ready for their first match at the ground against fellow newcomers Slieve Bloom this Saturday the 14th of April.
The club is in Newtownforbes and their first league match is away against Merrion the following Saturday 21st.
Slieve Bloom Cricket Club is in Kilcormac, County Offaly. The members laid their pitch last week, too, and have been entered into the Leinster League for the first time this year as well, but in Division 11. Their first league match is away at North County on May 4th.
