It’s all over at Belmont, where the North West Warriors have beaten the Northern Knights by 13 runs in a tense finish in the Hanley Energy Inter-Provincial T20 Trophy at Belmont.
Final Scorecard
Having won the toss and elected to bat first, the Warriors got off to a flyer with Rankin (35) and Dougherty (20) putting on 46 for the first wicket.
Stuart Thompson (16) and Graeme McCarter (30) struck some big blows in the middle overs, but the Warriors will feel that they could of been further ahead entering the final overs, but for a Zac Rushe spell of 2-19 from his 4 overs.
William McClintock displayed some fine shots all around the ground in his 20 as the visitors closed on 136-7 from the 20 overs. With the ball both Phil Eaglestone and Nigel Joes performed well for the Knights.
In reply, both Dougherty (40) and Nelson (37) performed well with the bat, but some good bowling from the Warriors rescued the game for the visitors who bowled the Knights out for 123 in the final over of the match to secure the win.
