The home side had lost two early wickets chasing 213 in a 38 overs match – both to the impressive Coleraine seamer Jarred Barnes (2-15). Opener Jack Tector (3) and skipper John Anderson (5) were the men dismissed as Warriors took early control.

Dom Joyce (20*), and Sean Terry (17*) – fresh from his 251 for Ireland A during the week – were leading the counter-attack when a deluge ended the chance of any play.

Earlier the Warriors innings of 212 for 8 was centered around half century contributions from their two overseas players.

Oraine Williams top scored with 85, sharing a 98 run stand for the fifth wicket with Danza Hyatt (54) after the Warriors had been struggling on 46 for 4.

Williams hit 10 fours and cleared the ropes twice in his 66 ball innings, with Hyatt the more watchful – facing 73 deliveries for his 54.

Peter Chase (3-22) was the most impressive bowler on view, well supported by Eddie Richardson (2-27) and Tyrone Kane (2-53) who each picked up two wickets.

The Inter-Provincial Series takes a break this week as Ireland are in action against Sri Lanka at Malahide.
