As the Hanley Energy Inter-Provincial Series continues, both Leinster Lightning and the Northern Knights have named their squads for upcoming fixtures in both 50-over and 3-day formats.
The Knights have kept faith in their Hanley IP50 side despite a heavy defeat to the Lightning last weekend, with selectors hoping the side will ‘respond appropriately’, challenging them to play to their potential.

The win for the Lightning last week means they now sit top of the Hanley IP50 table, knowing that another win against the Knights on Sunday at Waringstown will mean they secure the title before their final fixture with the Warriors.

A win for the Knights will see them regain the top spot in the table, but they will have completed their fixtures, while the Lightning will still have one last opportunity to claim the title when they face the Warriors at the end of the month.

The Lightning have made one change to their squad from last week, with 12th man Jack Tector unavailable due to playing commitments at Glamorgan, Lorcan Tucker of Pembroke coming into the squad in his place.

In the three day Hanley Inter-Provincial Championship match, starting on Monday at Stormont, both sides will be looking to gain ground on league leaders the Warriors, who only have one game remaining in the Championship this year.

A win for the Knights will see them top the table, with a favourable draw also potentially seeing them take the top spot. The Lightning, who have only played on Championship match so far, can only reach the top if they take the maximum number of bonus points while winning the match.

Again the Lightning have made just one change from their 50-over squad for Sunday, with Dom Joyce unavailable due to wok commitments, meaning Yaqoob Ali comes into an otherwise unchanged squad.

The Knights however, have made several changes to their side, most notably Lee Nelson taking over as captain in place of the unavailable Andrew White. Mark Adair is also unavailable for the Hanley IP Championship match, with Peter Eakin rounding of a trio of changes.

Waringstown pair Adam Dennison and James McCollum join Robert McKinley of Ballymena in the squad, with all three looking to make an impact on the Inter-Provincial Series having represented Ireland at under 19 level.

The Hanley IP50 match will start at 10.45am in Waringstown Cricket Club on Sunday August 9th, whilst the Hanley IP Championship game will start at 11am each day in Stormont starting on Monday, with free entry for all spectators at both matches.
