Ava Canning forced to withdraw from Ireland Women’s squad

St. Mary’s College won a tightly fought Leinster School’s Super League Final against Star of the Sea at Pembroke Cricket Club Yesterday
Six weeks of Super league activities concluded yesterday at a sun drenched Sydney Parade where St Mary’s overcame Star of the Sea by six wickets. The large crowd were treated to some excellent cricket as St Mary’s captain Fionn O’Sullivan, showing high levels of maturity, batted through to finish on 87 not out.
The Super league continues to offer Primary school children competitive cricket on a weekly basis. It is hoped several more schools will be invited to take participate in next year’s competition.
Aviral Shukla from Star of the Sea was a deserving winner of the CricHQ MVP of the Tournament, throughout the tournament Aviral was run close by David Hogan from St. Mary’s who ended up finishing in second place in the MVP standings.
David Hogan was the top run scorer of the tournament with 218 runs whilst Tim Tector and Sean Stanton led the way in the wicket charts with 6 wickets each.
