Italy takes final game of series

Leinster Lightning will take on the Denmark in a series of T20 pre-season fixtures in April in Dublin.
Leinster Lightning will take on the Denmark national side in a series of T20 pre-season fixtures in April in Dublin.
The Lightning will play the Danes in two T20s on Friday the 17th and Saturday the 18th April at YMCA in Sandymount, with the visitors also taking on the Ireland U19s in a T20 fixture on the second day. They round off their visit with a game against current Irish Senior Cup holders The Hills on Sunday 19th April at Milverton.
Denmark is currently playing in Division 4 of the ICC World Cricket League, and is coached by former Irish international Jeremy Bray, who last year coached the Lightning in an interim capacity. The fixtures will give Bray a good indication how far his squad has progressed since finishing third in the World Cricket League tournament played in Singapore last year, narrowly missing out on promotion to Division 3.
These games will be the first for the Lightning under newly-appointed coach Ted Williamson, who has taken over from Trent Johnston having started his new role with New South Wales in late 2014.
Commenting on the fixtures, Williamson said: “It’ll be great a way to fine-tune ahead of the first Inter-Provincial game in Stormont on the 1st May against the Northern Knights. That’s also a T20 clash so this comes at an opportune time and we expect two tough matches against a strong Danish outfit who have made impressive strides with Jeremy at the helm.”
Match schedule as follows:
• 17th April 2015: T20 Challenge – Leinster Lightning V Denmark – 3pm YMCA C.C.
• 18th April 2015: T20 Challenge – Ireland U19 V Denmark – 10.30am YMCA C.C.
• 18th April 2015: T20 Challenge – Leinster Lightning V Denmark – 3pm YMCA C.C.
