Cricket Ireland wishes to express its sadness on the death of Con Houlihan and its condolences on all his friends and family.
Con was a legendary sportswriter, and a great lover of cricket at a time when few others wrote about it. His columns in the Evening Press and later the Sunday World were a delight for lovers of all sport and he regularly wrote about his love of cricket.
He grew to love the game in his time in England and was a devotee of the writing of Neville Cardus. He occasionally came to watch the Ireland team too, and delighted in the successes of recent years.
