Ireland Women have rounded off a fantastic year by receiving a nomination for Team of the Year in the RTE Sports Awards.
The winners will be revealed and presented with their awards at The RTÉ Sport Awards in association with Sport Ireland which will be broadcast live on RTÉ One, Saturday 19 December at 9.40pm.
Presented by Darragh Maloney, the live show will review what was another momentous year for Irish athletes and teams, and look back on the dramatic and memorable sporting moments of 2015.
The team, led by captain Isobel Joyce not only qualified for the World T20 India 2016 last month, but won the qualifying tournament outright, their first win at a global tournament, beating Bangladesh in a thrilling final.
On top of that the side also hosted World Champions Australia, pushing them close in two of the three matches held in Dublin, as well as finishing fourth in the Roya London ECB T20 Championships Division One.
