Ireland Women will participate in a Quadrangular Series in South Africa in May with six matches scheduled against the hosts, Zimbabwe and India.

The fixtures are a major boost for the Irish who recently retained their ODI status during the ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifiers in Sri Lanka.
Head Coach Aaron Hamilton welcomed the fixtures saying: “It’s fantastic news for the squad and has given everyone involved a real lift.

“It’ll be a great experience for the players touring South Africa and another real opportunity for them to continue their development.

“We had a real hard-fought series against South Africa last summer winning two matches, and this tour is a consequence of our performances in those games. This series gives us all something to look forward to.”

The games will be held in Potchefstroom with four matches scheduled for Senwes Park and two games at The PUK Oval.

The tour begins on Sunday May 7th with the ‘Girls in Green’ first game against India, followed by an encounter with Zimbabwe two days later.

The Irish take on the hosts on May 11th before their second clash against India on the 15th.

They face Zimbabwe again on the 17th before the final round-robin game against South Africa on the 19th.
The series concludes with a placings match on May 21st.
