Italy takes final game of series


The Ireland team departed for the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup in Australia and New Zealand this morning.
The Boys in Green touch down in Sydney tomorrow, where the current holders of the Sydney Grade T20 title Randwick Petersham will host Ireland for five days between the 2nd and 6th of February providing a training base at their home ground of Coogee Oval.
Ireland will take on a Randwick Petersham Invitation XI featuring former Australian Test batsman Simon Katich on Firday 6th February.
Two warm-up matches against Scotland (Feb 10th) and Bangladesh (Feb 12th) complete Ireland’s preparations before they take on the West Indies in their first group game at the Saxton Oval in Nelson, New Zealand.
The team were last night presented with their World Cup shirts by President of Cricket Ireland Joe Doherty at a special team event before the squad and support staff departed this morning.
