Cricket Ireland has named the Under-15s Boys squad to play two fixtures in Jersey in late July, following on from the squad’s successful recent tour to England during which they won three of four matches.
Brian Allen, Head Coach of the Under-15s, said:

“The recent tour to England was a successful trip for the squad, with Captain Tim Tector leading from the front with the bat, scoring a century against a strong Middlesex side. Middle-order batsman Wilhelm De Klerk also came to the fore with a number of strong batting performances – most notably steering the side from a precarious 21-5 against Middlesex in our second match, scoring 71* and setting us up for victory in that game.”

“I was pleased with the bowlers who performed well as a unit. Definitely the stand-out performance was Matthew Humphreys’ 4-18 in our third match against Berkshire which removed the opposition top order and set us up for a comfortable win.”

“That tour really put the depth of young Irish cricket talent on display, and we’ll be looking to build on this in Jersey.”

Tim Tector will once again lead the side, with the 12-player squad being:

• Tim Tector – Captain (YMCA/LCU)
• Nathan McGuire – Vice-Captain (Rush/LCU)
• Ben Brownlee (YMCA/LCU)
• Diarmuid Burke (Rush/LCU)
• Wilhelm de Klerk (YMCA/LCU)
• Cian Egerton (Waterford District/MCU)
• Jamie Forbes (YMCA/LCU)
• Matthew Humphreys (Instonians/NCU)
• Stuart Kennedy (Ballyspallen/NWCU)
• Jack McGee (Rush/LCU)
• Daniel Thorne (Rush/LCU)
• David Vincent (Clontarf/LCU).
