Ireland’s cricketers arrived in Belfast ahead of Thursday’s Hanley Energy Challenge against Australia at Stormont.
The side trained at Stormont ahead of the game, with John Bracewell keeping a watchful eye over his players ahead of Thursday’s game, which is Australia’s first ODI since winning the ICC World Cup earlier this year.

After qualifying for the ICC World T20 in July, Ireland have made some changes to their squad, with Ed Joyce and Tim Murtagh, who have both retired from T20 cricket, returning to the squad as Tyrone Kane, Graeme McCarter and Stuart Poynter missing out.

This will also be the first Ireland international in the post Alex Cusack era, after the mainstay of the Irish side for the last eight years announced his retirement from international cricket last week.

Australia, who also arrived in Belfast on Tuesday will be looking to bounce back after defeat in the Ashes, although there is no doubting their record in the 50-over format, the side only being beaten once in 2015.

Both sides will train on Wednesday before the game on Thursday, which starts at 10.45am. Some tickets are still available for the game and can be purchased now by clicking here, or they can be purchased on the gate on the morning of the game (subject to availability).
