While the three Provincial Premier league tables are settling down somewhat, the CricHQ MVP Rankings are still on the move.
The three Irish Premier Leagues have begun to take shape after three or four rounds of matches with clear leaders and chasers in each province.
No team is running away with their league yet but after four matches, The Hills are the team to beat in Leinster, leading second-placed Merrion and Railway, both on 71, by 21 points on 92. Coleraine are the only team on six points after three rounds of matches in the Long’s Supervalu Premier League while Donemana, Eglinton and Brigade are all on four points having lost one match each. Instonians share lead with Waringstown in the Ulster Bank Premier League on 12 points, but have played only three games while Waringstown have played four.

While the leagues have settled down somewhat, the CricHQ MVP rankings have not and there is a new leader in the NCU’s Ulster Bank Premier League table. North Down’s Tim Ley has moved up four places into top spot after scoring 59* and taking three wickets against CSNI, just pushing Ballymena’s Kaushik Aphale, who took three wickets against Lurgan, into second place.

Tim Ley’s all-round efforts have propelled him into top spot in the NCU

CSNI’s Griffin Nieuwoudt retains his place in the top five, moving up one spot into third after scoring 79 against North Down while the biggest mover is Lurgan’s Niranjan Godbole who jumps 12 places into fourth after the last round of matches when he scored 123 and took four wickets against Ballymena. Irish International and Instonians all-rounder Andrew White rounds off the top five, moving up six places after scoring 95* and taking four wickets against CIYMS last weekend.

To the North West where the Warriors captain, Iftikhar Hussain took one step up in the Long’s Supervalu Premier League table into top spot after taking four wickets for just 17 runs for Fox Lodge against Glendermott. Jonathon Robinson, also from Fox Lodge, has moved up 10 places into second after taking four wickets for 40 runs in the same match.

Coleraine’s Niall McDonnell retains third place having scored 36 against Donemana while Glendermott’s Charlie Elder jumps a huge 24 places into fourth after scoring 53 and taking four wickets against Fox Lodge. In fifth place is Brigade’s Johnny Thompson who moves down one spot.

Patrick Collins is firmly at the top of Leinster’s RSA Division 1 Premier League table after his match-winning innings of 85* for Railway against Pembroke at the weekend. He is over 20 points ahead of second-placed Reinhardt Strydom who scored 92 for YMCA against Merrion. Merrion’s John Anderson was pushed down one place into third having scored 60 in the same match.

In fourth place is Ireland International John Mooney who moved up 14 places after scoring 109 and taking three wickets for North County against Phoenix while Max Sorensen remains in fifth position courtesy of his 44 against Leinster.
