It’s been a rain frustrated return to Inter-Provincial cricket for the Munster Reds but they’ll be looking to get up and running away to defending champions the Leinster Lightning on Friday evening.

Friday night is Hanley Energy Inter-Provincial T20 night and the Leinster Lightning and the Munster Reds have released their squads ahead of this eagerly awaited contest.
The Lightning had a comprehensive 7 wicket victory over the Northern Knights last Friday while the Munster Reds had their fixture against the North West Warriors washed out at The Mardyke.

With two wins from two, the Leinster Lightning have made just one change and that is an enforced one. Kevin O’Brien is battling a hamstring injury that has bothered him recently so it is timely for George Dockrell to be returning from exam commitments to replace him.

Munster for their part, also make one change from last week’s squad. Arslan Anwar replaces the unavailable Gary King and comes into the side on the back of recent impressive performances for County Kerry in Munster league and Irish National Cup games, including 145* against Midleton.

David Delany and Morne Bauer will be looking for their first chance to impress in a Munster jersey at this level.

With good weather forecast the action gets underway at Merrion Cricket Club at 5pm.
