Selfless leg bye
Ireland Men make it 2-from-2 against Italy; Tector hits remarkable 96*

North County Cricket Club’s Fionn Hand has been named as the winner of Leinster Lightning’s first ‘Find a Bowler’ competition, which was held last week in North Kildare and Leinster Cricket Clubs.
The initiative was introduced by the Leinster Lightning to unearth all the hidden talent currently tormenting batsmen in the lower leagues of Leinster cricket. The competition saw 48 competitors bowl to Lightning batsmen whilst being judged by Lightning head-coach Trent Johnston and team manager Mark Jones, with Ed Sports generously sponsoring the event and providing balls and t-shirts.
Johnston was immensely impressed with the standard of bowling on display and in particular with young Fionn Hand, who plays his cricket for North County’s 2nd and 3rd teams. The judges felt that Fionn displayed the control and rhythm necessary to go far in the Leinster leagues and hopefully one day in senior representative cricket. As winner of the competition, Fionn will now become the 13th member of the Lightning squad for the Inter-Provincial T20 day in Pembroke in August.
The Lightning management and players would like to join Trent in saying thanking both North Kildare and Leinster Cricket Clubs and their members for hosting us and to Ed Sports for their generous sponsorship.
