The Cricket Ireland Cricket Committee met on Monday 19th May to discuss Eglinton’s appeal against the decision of the Umpires to award North Down victory in the first round of the RSA Irish Senior Cup on the 10th May.
Whilst acknowledging that Eglinton had worked tirelessly to ensure the possibility of a match being completed on the day, the meeting felt, that unfortunate as it was, the required D/L Print Out was not made available within the allotted time of 15 minutes which is a requirement within the RSA ISC Regulations and the Umpires therefore acted correctly in awarding the match to North Down. Therefore Eglinton’s appeal was dismissed.

The Committee felt that Eglinton could have foreseen the possibility of the match being reduced to 10 overs per side earlier and taken action to ensure the relevant D/L print out was made available within the allocated time. Taking action earlier may have also minimised the unfortunate impact of the technical issue that arose with the computer.

North Down are therefore confirmed as being at home to either Phoenix or Brigade in the 2nd Round.
