The Cricket Ireland Coaches’ Association (CICA) is now in its second year, and after a successful first season, member renewals and new memberships for 2015 are open.
The purpose of CICA is to support and raise the profile of our coaches. We aim to increase coaching standards through creating a community across the country, and by promoting and developing a culture of continuous improvement.

CICA are taking a giant leap in coach education in 2015, and members will feel the full benefit of a range of new programmes and workshops to improve their coaching.

The first CICA National Coaching Conference will take place at DCU in April, with a number of workshops, seminars, forums and opportunities to learn new drills and get insights into different coaching practices from some of the top names in the coaching world, including Phil Simmons and other national coaches.

In addition to this there will also be a series of eight CICA workshops with National Players and Coaches exploring a wide variety of areas in coaching and player development. These workshops, and the National Coaching Conference will also provide members with the opportunity to network with other coaches in the game.

Another first for 2015 will be the CICA Coaching Awards, which will see each union hosting its own awards, with the winners in with a chance of winning the CICA Coach of the Year Award. Some of the categories that will be awarded are Young Coach of the Year, Women’s Coach of the Year, Men’s Club Coach of the Year and the Representative Coach of the Year.

Members will also benefit from union specific workshops through their provincial union, which they will automatically become a member of when joining CICA and the opportunity to purchase bespoke clothing only available to members.

One of the most frequently asked questions is about insurance, and if it is included in membership. Once again in 2015 we are pleased to include coaching specific insurance for all members, providing you with that piece of mind when you are coaching.

Membership is only £35 or €42, which can be paid by cheque or by card over the phone. To apply to become a members simply download an application form and send a completed version to coached@cricketireland.ie or by post to Cricket Ireland, Coaching Department, Unit 22, Grattan Business Park, Clonshaugh, Dublin 17 for applicants in the Republic of Ireland, or Cricket Ireland, The Pavilion, Stormont Estate, Belfast, BT4 3TA for those in Northern Ireland.
