Ireland Qualify for World Cup with Thailand win

Ireland women have arrived in Thailand at the weekend and are continuing their preparations for the World T20 Qualifiers which get started this coming weekend.
Ahead of their departure we caught up with Ciara Metcalf to have a quick chat about the preparations and her expectations heading into the tournament.
“We’re used to training indoors, coming from Ireland we’ve so much bad weather but we come down here and make the most of it” said Metcalf as her team mates continued to train in the background.
That focus has helped get the squad ready for the tournament and now looking forward Metcalf is confident heading into the group stages.
“I know Paul O’Connell says you’ve got to take one game at a time but it’s actually true.
“I do think Zimbabwe, I’m not personally sure about them, but we should get through our group stages – again, we’ve got to take each game, they’re like cup matches each game so we’ve got to prepare as best we can and go out there with the to win mentality.”
