Middlesex County Cricket Club has announced that Ireland batsman Andrew Balbirnie has signed a new two year contract with the club.
Balbirnie joined Middlesex CCC on a full time contract in 2014 after completing his degree at Cardiff University. The 23 year-old batsman made his first-class debut for Middlesex in 2012 and played in a couple of NatWest T20 Blast matches in 2014. He has so far played four One-Day Internationals for Ireland and In the past 12 months has played a number of games for Ireland A.

Commenting on the signing of Balbirnie Middlesex’s Managing Director of Cricket, Angus Fraser, said: “We are delighted to offer Andrew a new deal. He is a very talented player whose game continues to develop and impress in second eleven cricket. Andrew is an exceptional young man off the field too and we look forward to working with and watching him improve over the next couple of years.”
