James Shannon’s Ireland A team were left to lament the bad weather yet again today as they watched the rain fall for the rest of the day after just 9.4 overs of play.
After a delayed start, Kent bowled first and accounted for Chris Dougherty with the first ball after Harry Hampton had him caught behind. Andrew Balbirnie (20*) joined Ben Ackland (13) earlier than expected and set about easing Ireland into the game. But before the 10th over could be finished, the rain that was forecast for the afternoon came early and the teams went off just before midday.

The rest of the day was spent watching the rain. There’s one more day left in the game so all the players can do is hope for better weather.
