Rory Anders took a brilliant hat-trick as Ireland U19 kept their 100% win record intact with a 5 wicket win over the Netherlands.
Ireland secured the win scoring the required reduced Duckworth Lewis target of 135 in 27.2 overs, after Netherlands posted 141 for nine after the match had been reduced to 37 overs a side after rain.
Netherlands posted 141 for nine in the reduced 37 overs. Before the rain came in, Ireland’s Rory Anders secured a fantastic hat trick in the third over getting Pieter De Graff (1), Roeland Verhagen (3) and Kertan Nana (0) leaving the Dutch on four runs for three wickets.
Captain Saqib Zulfiqar was the stand out batter steadying the ship for the Dutch with 62 runs from 100 balls including six fours and his triplet Asad Zulfiqar supported him at the crease scoring 35 runs from 59 balls including one four. Anders finished on figures of four wickets for 30 runs in seven overs.
The Irish reached their winning reduced total in 27.2 overs as Gary McClintock once again led with the bat scoring 37 runs not out in 42 balls including four fours and one six. Adam Dennison (32, one four) and James Mitchell (19 not out, three fours and one six) were the other two stand out batters for the Irish. Rens Van Troost took two wickets for 25 runs in eight overs.
