Ireland Qualify for World Cup with Thailand win

Ireland Women have completed their final training session before travelling over to Thailand for the World T20 Qualifiers this weekend, with Head Coach Aaron Hamilton speaking exclusively to CricketIreland.ie during the final session.
After commenting on the success of the season so far Hamilton quickly turned to plans for the summer.
“First and foremost is just to get everyone acclimatised, and once we get that we’ll establish a few batting line-ups and game plans which will lead us into the first game.”
The squad depart on Friday and will arrive in Thailand on Saturday, with two warm up games, on against Scotland and one against hosts Thailand, before starting the tournament proper against The Netherlands on November 28th.
Talking before the departure Hamilton was quick to point out the importance of making a good start to the tournament and was hopeful of making an impact beyond the qualifiers and in the World Cup proper.
“Hopefully when we qualify and get to India we’d love to be able to complete and steal a game or two on that stage, which is what Irish cricket’s managed to do in the Men’s game for a few years now.
“I don’t think this group is far away from that if they put it all together, so it should be interesting once we get there.”
