We’ve reached the last eight in the Irish Senior and National Cups with the Quarter-Final ties taking place on Sunday July 9th.
The quarter-finals of both the Irish Senior and National Cups take place on Sunday July 9th across the country. Eight games there may be, but undoubtedly the place to start is Waringstown hosting Merrion in the Senior Cup.
This is the fourth meeting of the sides in five years, the Leinster side leading 2-1, and will see some of the finest talents in the country going head-to-head. Waringstown, who have the won the competition four times, have met Merrion in the last two finals so this is arguably a meeting of the top two sides in the country.

Merrion travel North with the likes of Ed Joyce, John Anderson and Tyrone Kane in their ranks but, just last weekend, Gary Kidd produced incredible bowling figures of 7-9 in ten overs against Coleraine. All the ingredients are there for a tight game.

CIYMS and Instonians, both of the Northern Cricket Union Premier League, meet at Belmont on Sunday, 24 hours after they face each other in a League tie. Instonians’ Shane Getkate was in good form for the Ireland Wolves in their mid-week 3-Day match in Gloucester and will be looking to take that into his club form too.

As well as a guaranteed NCU semi-finalist, there is also a guaranteed Leinster Cricket Union semi-finalist, as neighbours Balbriggan and The Hills meet at Milverton. Balbriggan are playing in the competition for the first time and face The Hills who beat Donemana in the last round.

The last quarter-final sees three times winners North Down travel to face Pembroke, who accounted for Bready CC in the second round.

In the National Cup, holders Rush take on fellow Leinster side Terenure, who knocked Limerick out in a dramatic super-over decider last time out.

County Kerry face the long trek north to County Tyrone to play Strabane, while Derriaghy will host Knockharley who came through a re-fixed match against Newbuildings.

Finally, Midleton travel north to take on Malahide.
