Foundation Certificate
This course is designed to introduce learners to the basic fundamentals of umpiring so that they can gain knowledge and confidence. This course is completely free to access and delivered entirely online through an innovative micro-learning approach, which enables courses to be completed at any pace and through short, sharp modules whether at home on a computer or on the move via a mobile device.
 
This course must be completed by anyone who wishes to participate on the ICC Umpiring Level 1.
 
Umpiring Level 1 

his course is designed to give learners the knowledge and confidence required to officiate games at club level. On completion of this course, Umpires will be qualified to stand at all Club level games. Anyone wishing to participate on this course must complete all online modules before applying for the face-to-face practical elements of the course. The face-to-face elements of this course are delivered by tutors in the Local Associations.

In addition to Cricket Ireland, there are Umpire Associations in almost each provincial region. Each association has Cricket Ireland/ICC Umpire Tutors available to deliver courses.

Northern Ireland Association of Cricket Umpires 

The Northern Ireland Association of Cricket Umpires (NIACUS) was originally formed in 1949 as the 'Northern Ireland Cricket Umpires Association'. It was formed by umpires with the purpose of improving the standard of umpiring within the NCU (Northern Cricket Union). This was to be done through training and discussion of umpiring matters.

NIACUS offers training courses throughout the year. Check the NIACUS page linked above for details.  

Leinster Cricket Umpires and Scorers Association

The Leinster Cricket Umpires and Scorers Association (LCU&SA) is made up of passionate volunteers delivering an organisation that is committed to umpires and scorers in Leinster.

The Executive Committee is democratically elected by the LCU&SA membership at the Annual General Meeting, to represent and work on behalf of the membership.
