DUBLIN – Ireland’s Gaby Lewis has been signed by the Southern Brave to join its squad in The Hundred for the remainder of the competition.
Lewis, 20, has 79 caps for Ireland since making her international debut in 2014. A hard-hitting opener, she joins the Southern Brave franchise in the new competition The Hundred. The Southern Brave is rapidly becoming the de facto team to follow for Irish fans with Paul Stirling joining the same franchise last month.

The Southern Brave became the first side to qualify for The Hundred finals, and Lewis comes in to replace Smriti Mandhana who is not available for the rest of the tournament.

Speaking on her departure for England, Lewis said:

“It’s a very exciting opportunity, and I can’t wait to get over there. It’s a great chance to be around and learn from some of the best in the world, and I want to thank the Southern Brave for giving me the opportunity.”

“I have been following the The Hundred as much as I can – it’s been a great competition so far, and it’s great to see all the young kids, especially girls, at all the games. To be a part of it will be a great experience.”
