Winning start
Orla Prendergast stars with bat and ball in win over PNG

Sport Ireland is leading on the Irish Government’s ‘Keeping active’ theme in conjunction with Healthy Ireland, LSP’s, Age & Opportunity and Get Ireland Walking. As part of this work they are asking sports clubs across the country who have appropriate facilities to consider opening them to the public for walking activities.
The Irish Government has launched a “Keep Well” campaign which aims to support people and communities to mind their physical and mental health over the coming months.
The Keep Well Campaign is focused on 5 main themes:
• Minding your mood
• Eating well
• Switching off & being creative
• Staying connected
• Keeping active
As part of this campaign, there is the ‘Keep Well Fund’. This Sport Ireland funding is to help support clubs with this initiative – the funding will be administered through NGB’s – in this case, Cricket Ireland. Clubs can receive grants for a maximum of €1,000 to help with associated costs like lighting, high vis vests etc. The fund is open to all clubs across the island of Ireland and clubs must fulfil all criteria as set out by Sport Ireland.
More detail is available in the poster below.
We have created an expression of interest form where clubs can register their interest with Cricket Ireland. Forms need to be back in by Friday 27 November.
