Ava Canning forced to withdraw from Ireland Women’s squad

Eight teams remain in the RSA National Cup following the second round of matches in the competition.
Holders Muckamore were knocked out by a strong Malahide outfit. Batting first, the Village set a target of 201, Fintan McAllister top-scoring with 59. The visitors only managed 116 in response, falling 85 runs short.
County Galway beat Ballaghadereen in highly entertaining high-scoring affair. Ballaghadereen posted a very competitive 350-6 but Galway chased it down with two-and-a-half overs to spare with four wickets in hand.
Dundrum (LCU) beat Dundrum (NCU) by 51 runs. It was an impressive win as Dundrum (LCU) set a below par target of 182 but Dundrum (NCU) only managed 131 in return. Laurevale beat Killyclooney by 64 runs after setting a target of 308 for 9. Killyclooney reached 244 in the 46th over when they ran out of wickets.
Cliftonville got past St Johnston to book their place in the third round. They dismissed St Johnston for just 105 but made hard work of it, losing six wickets in the chase. Rush beat Civil Service Dublin by two wickets. The visitors batted first and set a competitive target of 266 but Rush passed the total to book their place in the third round.
Derriaghy are into the third round after they were awarded their match against NUI Galway. They are joined by Mullingar who beat County Kerry by 73 runs. Batting first, Mullingar scored 230 all-out in 42.3 overs, Kerry scoring 157 all out in return,.
Round 3 takes place on July 7th with the draw taking place on Friday during the lunch interval of the Ireland v Australia A match at Stormont.
