A canny all-rounder who bats and bowls in the middle overs of both one-day and T20 cricket, Laura has been a mainstay in the Irish set up since her debut against New Zealand in 2010. She thrives on pressure situations and led Ireland for eight years from 2016 until 2024.

A fierce competitor, Laura burst onto the scene as a young swing bowler with a steely determination that saw her take the wicket of Sophie Devine on debut. She always wanted to captain the national team, and got her wish when she was given the role in 2016, a position she held for eight years.

Laura oversaw a changing of the guard during her time in charge, and she now adds experience to a young, up-and-coming side that is navigating the move from an amateur to professional era.

She holds a Sports Science & Health degree, and greatly enjoys being a full-time athlete.
