DUBLIN – Selectors have today named the 14-player Ireland Women’s squad to compete at the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup European Qualifier in the Netherlands starting 20 August 2025.

The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Europe Division 1 Qualifier will see Ireland Women face Italy, Germany, and the Netherlands. The event will be a double round robin, whereby each team will play each other twice. The two teams at the top of the table after all matches have been completed will progress to the Global Qualifier.

For background on the Qualifier process:

• Bangladesh and Scotland have earned automatic spots in the Global Qualifier by virtue of their participation in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024.
• Thailand and Nepal qualified for the Global Qualifier through the Asia regional pathway, while the USA secured their place from the Americas region.
• The remaining five spots will be filled by two teams each from Africa and Europe and one from the East Asia-Pacific region, following the completion of their respective regional Qualifiers.
• The Qualifier in Nepal will see the 10 teams divided into two groups of five, followed by a Super Six stage and a Final.

The squad we have chosen, while relatively young in age, have almost 650 caps collectively in the T20I format, so have plenty of experience to draw upon. This experience, as well as a recent hard-fought series win over Pakistan, have the players in a good place and eager to take the first steps towards world cup qualification.”
