DUBLIN – After losing the first two T20Is, Pakistan Women put in a commanding performance with the bat to claim victory and break Ireland’s nine-game winning streak in the format.

The third T20I opened with Ireland Women winning the toss and opting to bat first against Pakistan Women under cloud cover but with conditions slowly brightening.

Ireland Women posted 155-4 from their 20 overs with Orla Prendergast (64*), Gaby Lewis (36) and Amy Hunter (29) the main contributors with the bat.

In response, Pakistan Women scored 156-2 – chasing down the total in the 18th over to claim the win. Ava Canning (1-17) and Lara McBride (1-29) were the two wicket takers for Ireland Women.

Freya Sargent, who came into the side for Jane Maguire, also got her first bowl in international cricket since returning from injury.

The eventual series result matched the last meeting of the two sides in a three-match T20I series back in 2022 away in Pakistan.

It also brought an end to a nine-game winning streak for Ireland Women going back to their last ball win against England Women in September 2024 at the same ground.

Earlier in the day, captain Gaby Lewis received her 100th T20I cap for Ireland while Arlene Kelly received her 50th for Ireland in the format.
