Earlier this month, Irish cricket living legend James ‘Jimmy’ Harrison met with several of the current Ireland Men’s team in southern Spain during their training camp ahead of the upcoming Zimbabwe tour.
Jimmy, a player in the famous demolition of the West Indies in 1969, was greeted with open arms and a very respectful team were more than happy to take the time out to share a few old and new stories.
Jimmy, who now resides in this area, later said that ‘it was a pleasure to have met everyone’ and he particularly would like to congratulate Morgan Topping on his inclusion in the squad and will be hoping that he gets his debut in the upcoming series.
Jimmy played against Morgan’s grandfather in the 1970s and was really pleased to see him also progressing to such a high level.
Thanks for your time to all the players and the coach. It was a pleasure meeting you all.
