Gavin is a quick leg-spinning all-rounder who tries to be aggressive and positive with both bat and ball in hand. Uncapped at present, he is another player to have come through the ranks of the Pembroke Cricket Club 'talent factory'.
Gavin made his inter-provincial debut in 2021 and finished the 2023 IP competition as the third highest wicket-taker in the 50-over format with a best of 6-26.
He is the son of Conor Hoey, a former Ireland international, and spent last winter playing Grade Cricket in Sydney with UNSW.
